College Showcase
College
Showcase – 2014
1)
Games will be one-hour & thirty
(1:30) drop dead time limit. The game
will be official with the last full inning completed. The game can end in a tie.
2)
The International Tie-Breaker
Rule will begin to start the 8th inning. 1:30 drop dead time limit
will still be in effect.
3)
All Teams should be ready to
play fifteen minutes prior to the scheduled start of their game.
4)
NO
infield/outfield – you may take ground balls on
the back side of the infield if the grounds crew is done and fly balls in the
outfield
5)
All teams will play 5 games –
weather permitting. If games are interrupted due to weather, the schedule will
move on as scheduled, we will not move games or times.
6)
Game Balls will be provided for
each game
7)
Home team for each game will be
determined by a coin toss
8)
All games will be played by
A.S.A. rules. One exception is
batting. Being a college showcase
tournament, we want the girls to play and the coaches to have the ability to
move girls around. So…basically we will
use the NSA...EP. Each team is allowed
to bat 12 girls. Any 9 of the 12 players
can play defense at any time and can be moved around freely in the field (the
batting order can not change). ASA
allows a DP and Flex so if teams choice to use it, they can have 12 girls in
the line-up at one time.
9)
For any rain delay – the game
will be picked up from the point of interruption – unless it has reached the
minimum number of innings for a complete game. Again the game must be completed
in the time frame allowed.
10)
Mercy Rule – will be utilized
for all games:
“12 runs
after 3 innings, 10 runs after 4 innings, or 8 after 5
11)
Tournament format could change
at the discretion of the host if weather plays a factor.
12) All protests must be made AT THE TIME OF THE INCIDENT and
will be
resolved AT THAT TIME. The Umpire-in–Chief and/or Tournament Director
will have final say.
